Freedom To Read Week in Stauffer Library, Feb 23 – March 1, 2014
During the week of Feb 23 – March 1, the Queen’s Learning Commons is hosting public readings in Stauffer Library to raise awareness of censorship issues and to celebrate Freedom to Read Week. Join us in Speaker’s Corner on Wednesday and Thursday of this week (12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.), when readers from the Queen’s community will share excerpts from books that have been challenged or banned.
We encourage you to check out the Freedom to Read displays in Stauffer Library (many thanks to Peer Writing Assistant Beini Wang for creating the displays):
Freedom to Read Week encourages Canadians to think about censorship and intellectual freedom. For more information on Freedom to Read Week, please go to http://www.freedomtoread.ca/.
